Anybody watching it? Its back on again, its brilliantt as ever and they're in proper Africa after a couple of (excellent) days in Portugal and an easy day in Africa.

Sadly, one biker has bit the dust already, Elmer Symons of South Africa.

Mark Coma is leading the bikes, Sainz is leading the cars, poor Ari Vatenen dropped to last place (behind the twin engined 2CV) after hitting water at high speed in Portugal, and Tchagin (sp?) of Russia is leading the trucks, which are as monstrous and exciting as ever.

Its an absolutely mind blowing event. It makes me feel almost sick sometimes at the sheer determination and bravery of the participants. Every single person on the event is a true hero in my book.

If you haven't seen it yet its on Eurosport at 9pm each night for 45 mins, and repeated at midnightish and 7.30am the next morning.

Good to see the Dakar back on TV. will Sky be showing any of the FIA Baja series this year? Baja Wales has now got FIA status - it would be good to see that on the box. Good luck to all the Bowler crews, Ian Rochelle was 79th scratch last night. Be nice to see the new Nemesis make an impression on the top ten next year.

I only get to see about 5 mins each morning.

I admire the guys and gals brave/crazy enough to do it, what a challenge.
