Is it race law to have a fire extinguisher in the pit/paddock area with your team? Yes I know its common sense. But, is it in the blue book?

I don't think it is, though there will always be extinguishers in the pit lane and garages

As you say, common sense says have one at hand. Lee Caroline's car caught fire in the awning at one meeting and there were no extinguishers - we put it out with the contents of the tea urn. I always take mine out of the truck and stick it next to the tool box as you just never know.

You got me there, im not sure if its in the blue book, but as you say you'd be daft not to take one and have it handy. we always have one in the truck and get it out when refueling ( especially if howard strikes up the mig welder next to us whilst were fueling!!!!yikes)

Don't think it's in the blue book, but I thing you legally have to carry one if you carry more than X (where X is not very much) litres of fuel with you.

I didnt think legaly you could carry more than 5 litres in a suitable container without a hazmat certificate hehe says he with currently 5* 20L cans full of 99 octane in the van hehe

The garages certainly arnt supposed to sell you more than that, and will occasionally tuen the pumps off after a couple of jerry cans...
