Like the driver, hate the team!

After reading the thread yesterday on the odds for F1 2007. I was thinking on my drive home about who I may have a little flutter on this coming season. Now, I have always been a Mclaren man, this has been easy over recent years as I have liked the Finns, Montoya, Coulthard etc. This season looks good with Lewis and Alonso. However I thought I may put a few quid on Jenson as an outsider and out of patriotism and because there is a slim chance. However, my smart money would also have a few quid on Kimi. This is where my trouble lies, as a Mclaren fan I have conditioned myself to hate Ferrari. This is just good pub banter hate which we all have for rival football teams etc. and obviously makes for good heated discussions with Tifossi about strong arm tactics, cheating and non co-operation with other teams . So, how can I cheer on Kimi, knowing I've got a tenner on him when I hate Ferrari. Surely other peole must have this conundrum. What can a man do!

Had the opposite, love the team hate the driver. Really stretched my loyalties when EJ signed Hill.

I want Ferrari to win every race (and usually defend everything they do, they are there to win!) BUT I can't stand Kimi

I'm sure my mind will be changed if he starts winning races though. I just hope he doesn't break the car every other race!

I'm a lucky guy then, i've always loved Kimi and Ferrari (always secretly jealous of McLaren when they had him) and i can't think of a better racer to replace Schumi than Kimi

Put your money on Kimi and the disappointment of Ferrari doing well will be offset by your financial gain (provided you can get good odds)

same problem for me- kimi = fave driver. ferrari = team i like the least.
