Endurance racing

I'm looking at progressing my race team into car endurance racing after a few years of endurance karting (which seems to be dying a slow death at the moment).

I know about the Uniroyal fun cup - what other options are there?

No doubt about it, the Uniroyal Fun Cup is pretty cheap endurance racing. The cars are not very quick, but are "proper racing cars" in terms of chassis, and pretty reliable with low running costs.

Another option is the EERC's Production S1 (have a look at www.eerc.co.uk for details)

The series is well supported, and they have some good races on the calendar for this season - including a joint Britcar/Production S1/Britsports race at Spa.

Shorter stuff would be the CSCC's TinTops (under 2000cc, road tyres, nice and simple).

That might be a good starting point for car racing. They are running a round at Daytona this season too!!!!!!!! It'll cost a few quid to do that, but you get a 7day holiday thrown in...

I did a few tin tops races last year - 40 mins 2 driver format and they were a huge amount of fun. With proper endurance racing the costs rise substantially.

There are a few series in europe which may be more up your street - such as V de V which has up to 12 hour races and goes to Spa, Jaramba etc. They have modern and classic races and if you could stretch to a 911 GT3 (996) spec this should go well in the V de V (plus you can easily sell drives) and also run in britcar.

Citroen 2CV's? I know they have done 24 hour endurance races in the past...although i dont know if you would class them as 'proper racing cars'
