It sounds daft, but that car just looks like a winner. It is the result of a very long development period by F1 standards as well.
All they need now is a firebrand front-running driver. Webber and Coulthard are good, but they're not the Alonso or Schumacher that RBR need to complete the package.

You think? I agree it looks nice but just doesn't seem as radical as the Ferrari, Renault or Honda for my money. Of course, that could turn out to be a good thing but we must assume they've only moved forewards from where they left off.
Completely agree about the drivers though! At least this will be the year when we finally find out how good Webber really is. If he doesn't blow DC away then he'll be resigned to the middle ranks where an increasing number seem to believe was where he always belonged.
Compared to the other cars, the aero kit appears very simple and unfussy. Looks good to me, and as we know, if it looks good...
From an initial glance, the bits which look interesting to me are the bargeboard assemblies, the MP4-22-alike extra rear wing, and the 3d rear wing with the bent-up centre section, which probably in some way interacts with the mid-wing and engine cover. Neat exhaust outlets, too, although the chimneys look a bit weird and the airbox opening seems to be a long way back. Interesting that AN has opted to do without the airbox 'viking wings' from the last Macca he did.
According to the F1-Live website, he has been playing down the chances of immediate success with the RB3, stating that it took a long time to get the RB wind tunnel properly calibrated. That said, I don't think it will be a turkey as it looks to me like further development of his work at McLaren (zero-keel suspension, triple-plane front wing, heavily undercut sidepods, tight rear-end packaging), with some other influences (Renault rear wing shape, BAR twin-pylon rear wing mount, Ferrari-style mirrors) mixed in.

maybe theyll take more of a gamble with the torro rosso?
I seem to recall reading that they were going to try a Honda/Super-Aguri trick of having the same car for both teams but running different engines. IE, Red Bull get an RB3 with the Renault engine, whilst Toro Rosso get an RB3 (under a different designation), but with the Fezza engine in the back.
Could make for some interesting engine comparisons and shake up the grid a bit if it's true.

I think it's got a chance. Close relative of mine works at RBR and I know for a fact that Newey designed this car specifically around using the Renault engine even before the Renault engine deal was done, which although risky, means it's going to be miles ahead of anything RBR has done before. Fingers crossed.

yeah but maybe hes used some of the discarded risky elements from the rb3 and tried them out on the rosso? Good development tool having 4 cars!

Looks OK, but a bit conservative to me expecially compared to Honda's offering yesterday. I think the fact that they didn't get their wind tunnel calibrated until quite late is evident in the fairly uncluttered look of the car, in that they haven't yet had time to optimise the design with more complicated / additional winglets and flip-ups etc.
One that will be rigourously developed and will gradually move up the grid over the season I suspect, but I don't reckon they'll be challenging the top 4 teams.

Generally, if a car looks fast, it is fast...but then I did like the look of the Jordan 191.
I bet it has great drag figures. I'm sure the aero will change between now and the start of the season too.
Tt loosk a well conceived design to me - a "total" car rather than one on which one element works particularly well.
The colour scheme is great too
Webber needs a haircut
