I am intrested in becoming a motorsport mechanic, i am 16years old and am hopefull going to lackham colege in september to do a motorsport course.
I am intrested in doing British GT, World GT and Le mans in the future, does anybody have any advice for me about the best way to get into GT racing.
Any advice useful.

Might help giving a bit more info about yourself.
Like, whereabouts in the UK are you?
Do you have any mechanical experience to date? Road cars or race cars?
It might help people involved with teams think about letting you help out either in their workshops or at rce meetings for experience etc.
But no point for a team in Southampton if you're based in Aberdeen!

I am based in Swindon, Wiltshire.
I have some experience, I worked on road lorrys at my work experience. Last week was half term and I went to Neil Garners performance enginnering place at Kemble, it is very good. When the racing season starts I am planning to help out some teams at castle combe.

You need to find someone in your local area, otherwise travel will be a real problem getting to work and back (certainly until you can drive). Try making a list and then call or even better go visit and show you are keen.
Very few teams will provide "paid" work to people without qualifications and experience. Most/some teams will cover some sort of expenses and food etc at the track.
Basically you need to start at the bottom (cleaning wheels, scraping tyres etc), be presentable, preferably articulate, follow instructions and be keen. Obviously the better the team the more choosy they can be about apprentice's so best to get experience wherever you can at first. Qualififcations are also important particularly if you want to move up the ladder.

bit late but if you just search the web for local teams offer them free help.
i'm lucky enough to live in the area where most the motorsport teams base themselves, but i'm not a brilliant mechanic. my mate is far better and literally by word of mouth i was offered the chance to do some free help for an ASCAR truck racing team.
being so inept at spanning i passed it over to my mate but went along once to watch.
the team was small and staffed by volunteers and friends of the driver but he still paid for us to get into the circuit and provided us with some food. in return my mate spent a few evenings at their workshop helping adjust the settings on his truck.
it wasn't glamourous work but it was a start, if you're serious you need to get that 'foot in the door' that is so hard to acheive...
