Was anyone, i.e. Drivers, offically advised of the above because I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the EERC website on Monday?

This week Sky is showing the Britsports race. At the end of the programme it showed that next week will include Round 1 of The Britcar Championship. I think the 1st showing of next weeks 'World Motorsport' is at 19:30 next Monday evening, 9th. April.
The Britsports race this week was in the 2nd. third of the programme.

I just managed to catch it the other morning. Good and bad points:

1) Good that they got it out so quickly.
2) Bad that EERC didn't announce it early enough.
3) Good that I got my mug on TV.
4) Bad that the commentator hadn't got a clue what was going on, and the race was out of order - how difficult can it be to keep the footage for a 50 minute race in chronological order?!

I didn't catch it on Mon or Tues because of reason 2) but I gather it was Britsports?

1) Agreed
2) Agreed
3) Couldn't possibly comment....
4)Was that Andrew Marriott? - he's a very good commentator normally. He was certainly doing his "homework" in the Pit Garages on Saturday morning. Maybe we could help more with commentators sheets etc. Really the EERC should keep a database of these for the Press/TV.

I do keep profile sheets for as many drivers as respond, but sadly, many can't find the time or inclination to get involved in self-promotion. This is understandable, for, being a part-timer, the only time I get to talk to the drivers is on raceday, when everybody is busy. So many fail to fill in the sheet that I leave with them, that I must admit, I have almost given up on it. Brian Jones does the rounds when he can, and together we have got a reasonable, but very incomplete, database.

To all drivers that are interested, send me a private message please, with the usual details; where you live, birthdate/place, occupation, racing cv, etc, plus, if you want, a photograph, and I'll update my records.

Regarding the late announcement from the EERC, you may be aware that there was a family bereavement and subsequent funeral that significantly affected the staffing of the office last week/early this week, added to which, Andrew got the production out untypically fast - its usually many weeks, or even months, before the broadcast. I hope that there will be a dvd of it, because I missed ot too.

This has been an awkward couple of weeks, and I hope that you can understand.

I got the impression that the commentator wasn't watching the same video as me. For example, he referred to Simon Heaps being in the lead at the last safety car while the video clearly showed Will Curtis right in front of him.

Just watched the coverage of the first PS1 race at Silverstone. Pretty disapointing, they missed a lot of the action. (Only seemed to be 3 or maybe 4 cameras.) More importantly though they even got the results wrong, Fiona Leggate won the Class 3 battle not Sean Mcinerny, although that was a commentator error as the graphics had the correct result! No mention of when they will show race 2, if at all?

Nice to see Taffyracer on tv though!thumbup
