Just had a brief skim through the regs. If you were to run in class A (std & slightly modified), what would you have to change on the car to make it capable of being competitive?

Cheers

Jason, analysing the results from the scratch race at Brands, the top 6 in class A makes was:
1 Exige S2
2 Elise S1 111s
3 Elise S2 135R
4 Elise S2 111s
5 Elise S1 S160
6 Elise S1 111s

Beforehand I'd have said that an S1 S160 would be the class of the field but that doesn't seem to be the case so far - maybe the tiny power band on the 160 engine is too restrictive? Or suffer from not having a CR box?

I reckon an S1 with ~160bp, CR box, one way adjustable dampers (e.g. Nitrons) & decent pads (e.g. Pagid RS1-4s) would be right up there.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this series.

I have personally started two championships myself and know how difficult it is to get drivers to sign up for the first year. OK, I know a lot of these cars already existed in other series, but surely this is the biggest grid for the first ever round of any national championship?

Very impressive!

In fact only a handful of cars on the grid at Brands had been raced in other series: definitely less than 10 and may be only ~5.
All the others have been prepped over the winter for this series.
I think I'm right in saying it was the first time ever a one marque series has launched at Brands Hatch with two full 32 car grids on a single day.
So yes we're dead chuffed with the interest so far.
Roll on Snetterton on the 22nd

Cheers,
Andrew.

Finally got round to watching this off the hard drive last night.

It looked pretty good, I was impressed at the driving standards given the numbers of novice drivers.

The fires were pretty impressive...well done to the driver of the second burning car who I gather managed to drive it straight to the fire truck!
