Can we have a collection and get enough dosh together to have Murray cloned 'cos he was and is better than any of the current wasters. I'll put a tenner in 'cos I'm not happy watching the Grand Prix with the sound turned down.

Murray was incredibly frustrating.

It wasn't my job, but I knew the drivers' helmet colours and felt like I was continually correcting him.

Enthusiasm is all very well but I reckon he was better commentating on recorded footage. You couldn't tell it wasn't live but at least the gaffes were chopped out.

He worked well as a foil to James Hunt's laconic asides but after James died, it was downhill.

Who to get instead?

Yep, ok, but at least he seemed to genuinely enthusiastic for the sport, and when he got it wrong at least it was funny.
