Thanks for the nice comments. I am using a Nikon D200 and a Nikon 80 - 200 F2.8 AF-D lens.
P.S. I have just noticed that for some reason the pics look over-sharpened at web-size. I must say they definitely aren't over-sharpened at the original size. Don't know what has happened there.
Nice one.
I'm looking to get into Automotive Photoraphy myself, have a Canon 400D on the way at the end of the month, and will probably keep the standard lens, and maybe get a "Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III DC Lens" along with it.
Just wondering, what shutter speeds, ISO and Aperture settings are you using... If you dont want to disclose the information, then I'm totally fine with it.
My inspirational pics to start were seeings pics of an RB320 going around Knockhill, your pictures just inspire me more. Very good work!
Cheers,
Adam

Hi there,
Ray, superb pics as ever, you did well to capture the flames on the Maserati and Lamborghini.
I was at Silverstone on both Friday and Saturday.
Spent most of Friday photographing the GT90's revival, GT3 and Supercar Tour.
Quite like this shot: -
Then spent Saturday capturing images of the FIA GT cars out on track.
Here are a few of my pics:-
All of my GT pics can be found here: -
Page 1 - www.dunlopix.com/FIA%20GT.html
Page 2 - www.dunlopix.com/FIA%20GTa.html
Will post a link to the GT3 and GT90's ones when I have done them. Heres one to be going on with.
Regards
Tim

Thanks Adam, very nice comments, much appreciated. When you are looking at my website www.rsmp.co.uk if you open an image, you can then click photo info to find out what settings I used. The settings I use vary so much according to the track I am at and the weather and so on its probably easier for you to browse through the site. If you want any advice about certain tracks and types of shot in the future feel free to email me through my profile. Don't know much about Canon equipment but I would say the lens you have in mind would be a good starting point.
Cheers,
Ray.

Thanks Luca, its a shame there is no Exige GT3's in the FIA championship by the way. Thanks also Tim, your shots are at least as good as mine, love the Veyron shot.
Two more from today:
Even bigger flames from the Lambo
I love this shot. The other Lambo broke down and I managed to get a shot of a marshall running over to it as an Aston came in to view travelling at around 150MPH! What does everyone think of this shot?
Cheers,
Ray.

Great photos, everyone! The flame shots are particularly impressive. Ray, like your shot above of the stricken Lambo; good impression of speed with the Aston coming into frame.
Can I just throw a few of mine in the mix? We spent pretty much the whole weekend watching the racing at Abbey. Very entertaining with no end of spins and near misses; it was like watching Formula Ford at some points!
Saturday GT3 race
GT practice
Sunday GT4 race
Sunday GT race
Sunday GT3 race
And finally, Annie, who is my 13 year old stepdaughter and now known as 'Little Trackside', had a go at taking some photos during the Saturday GT3 race. She's never used a DSLR before, and certainly not whilst pointing it at fast GT cars! I think her results were pretty good for a first-timer!
I certainly think I'll be letting her use the D70 again!
All the weekend's photos are in my PBase gallery here

Certainly not a member as it's as hard as hens teeth to get membership I believe - twas courtesy of a friend of a friend of which I was exceedingly grateful to both. It certainly made a great day of it and dining on roast beef on the edge of Woodcote corner, with GT cars buzzing around you makes for a great Sunday

Stunning shots everyone.....a lot of the ones I took seem to be of the same scene from a very nearby angle
and we never met up. Only met up with Srider on here...which was great
Will post up mine as soon as possible before they go 'stale' (took 4000 - overdid it a little I think
)
