I am currently thinking about buying a race prepped E36 M3 - can anyone please advise me on average running cost of the Britcar events i.e: tyre/ petrol/ brakes -

Also if anyone has previous experience of racing an E36 I'd really like to hear from you about engine rebuild cost gearbox and diff cost and how often they need to be refreshed changed etc..

and also does anyone know any good teams that can prep the car etc. but does not charge massive premiums.

Any Help is appreciated - Thank you

John

I assisted Richard Moore at the 2005 Willhire - very, very profesional team. Also consider Metcalf Motorsport in Yorkshire. They prepare race E30 M3's and built a 318is compact into a Trackday car which we did the 2006 Willhire. It has subsequently been rebuilt into a full race car (re-caged, coil over KW's, big brakes etc) - got Pole at Snet at last Britcar meet. Lots of BMW knowhow. Speak to Paul or John Cockburn (of M3 engined Mini fame) - 01937 682673 or www.metcalfmotorsport.ltd.uk

The Moore car really is very special and the Metcalf compact is an absolute rocket, we also run an E36 with these cars and are looking for a driver for Oulton and Brands if you're interested
