Group C Le Mans

I'm doing a little paper for work about alternative fuels in motorsport, and that includes 'fuel formulas' where you get a limit on the amount of fuel you can use, and engine designs are freed.

I know this was used in Group C Le Mans cars, but I'm too young to have followed it at the time ('82 - '91 afaik).

how well did this format work (trying for a second to put aside the very cool 80's Le Mans cars) in terms of racing, and costs?
