Time to drop 2 again maybe?
Discussion
Over the past five years, the driver who has lead going into the Canadian GP has gone on to win the Drivers Championship 4 out of 5 times. When you read stats like this it makes you wonder why we ever watch the rest of the seaon!!!
Why don't we consider going back to the points system that allowed a driver to drop 2 of his worst scores. That way if a driver is taken out by another driver, or is effected by a mechancial failure not of his doing then it might just spice up the racing a little more. It might even encourage more daring moves...

dropping your worst two scores would only increase the gap between the top four and the rest. the top four most likely suffer the least number of mechanical failures or accidents and thus the rest of the pack are not benefitting from the races were alonso et al retire or do not score highly.
i think the answer is a revamp of the scoring. 1 gets 25 points, 2nd 18, and so on, the wider the margin, the more a driver will fight to make a place rather than sit behind a driver and take just one point less rather than risk all on a move which will not benefit him sufficently to warrant taking the risk in the first place!.
