As the title says. I thought their F1 base was in the UK am I right? What about other 'Foreign' teams? And what about engines, is the BMW really made by BMW etc.etc.

BTW this is to settle an argument with some Italian colleagues!

You can find all that at the official website: www.formula1.com

Click on 2007 season, and then "Teams and Drivers". It tells you where each team is based. Most are in the UK, but there are exceptions like BMW (Switzerland), Toyota (Germany), and Ferrari (Italy).

The only other non-UK based team is STR who are near Ferrari in Faenza

I think when he said "other" he meant "other than Ferrari, Toyota, and BMW" which the previous poster had just mentioned. wink

Renault have their engines built in France, Mercedes have a big manufacturing plant in Stuttgart for engine design although they are assembled here in the UK. Honda does a lot of work at home in Japan too, thus their weak performance and design issues.

If your colleagues were Italian then I can not for the life of me think why they would have thought Ferrari was UK based. Come on ya taking the piss? I thought the Ferrari blood red flowed through all Italians.

Ferrari's blocks (along with a lot of the other teams) are cast in the Midlands though aren't they.....
