Anyone else fed up listening to this guy being interviewed by ITV every ten minutes?

Nothing against the guy, but if he really wants to be on the telly that badly he should go on Big Bruvva.

Not really his fault, he's part of Mclaren and its all good publicity for their sponsors if he's on TV. Again blame ITV, they did similar to John Button when Jenson was up at the front, they obviously want as many soundbites as possible relating to Lewis.

Yes, I agree it is not his fault, and that it may be good news for their sponsors.

But he has very little of interest to say and ITV's tactic of interviewing the proud parent at every opportunity is tiresome.

At the risk of running against the grain, what we have here is someone who is arguably Britain's most natural racing driver since Jim Clark who, regardless of whether he has the best car or not, has not put a foot wrong in his first six races and has outqualified the reigning double world champion (and everyone else) in his seventh. This is, without doubt, unprecedented in motor racing and pretty much unprecedented in top line sport. A core part of this story is the backing of his father - the two of them working as a team - it is natural that the media take an interest.

I believe that at some point Lewis will make a mistake - although drivers of the calibre of Fangio, Moss and Clark made precious few- and no doubt there will be an element of the press who turn on him. However, at this point we should get behind him and his dad/manager.

That notwithstanding, ITVs coverage is appalling - bring back the BBC - bring back Murray Walker and James Hunt!!

The media interest in his dad is understandable, but its BORING telly.

Watched the qualifying on Speed TV as my digibox decided that ITV4 was not going to play ball and I must say it was a really refreshing change and the pre-qualifying build up was excellent with them talking to Renault about what the screens on the pit wall do. There were other items on the technical aspects of the cars and how they rotate componants to make the cars reliable.

I think you will find that there is such a tidal wave of interest in the Hamilton success story (which in many ways dwarfs the Button story of a few years ago) from every media Tom, Dick and Harriet, most of whom couldn't tell the difference between a steering wheel and a spinning wheel, that father and son, as well as McLaren, agree to a tiny fraction of the interview requests that they have been receiving.
You can't really say "No" to everyone, especially when you have got sponsors who ultimately pay the bills.

No, I do not look forward to them. Then again, I don't look forward to the driver interviews either. When was the last time that a driver said anything that contained even a kernel of interest? These guys are programmed to say nothing controversial, they're not going to disclose anything new that might give an insight to the opposition, and they're not exactly the most penetrating intellects on the planet, so what's left? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I look forward to hearing the engine notes, some of what Brundle has to say, and, apart from that, the complete absence of sound from the jabbering buffoon Allen, the cardboard cutout Rider, or that poor Louise Goodman, who's fathoms out of her depth.

Funny how Alonso's manager is never seen on TV. I know Webber is often interviewed on German TV as is N Haug and the BMW team....I suppose without Eddie Jordan ITV are short of people to speak to and with no Ross Brawn who else is there???

Maybe Mr Hamilton needs a manager and to get some personal sponsorship....
