Am I right in thinking that the TV rights here in the UK for ITV to show F1 runs out at the end of 2008, or is it 2009?

With the BBC managing to do what ITV can not do, that is, to pursuade Murray out of retirement, even if for just 1 race, do you think that it is now time for the BBC to spend some of the money we 'licence fee payers' give them to work with Bernie and Co to win the rights back?

Murray Walker, Suzie Perry and Martin Brundle plus no adverts and more than likely a more balanced view of Lewis Hamilton IMHO, a winning commbination don't you think?

Murray wouldn't travel either so the commentary would be studio based.

I very much doubt that the Beeb would do that today. Yes they may have done so in the past, but as I and others have said, television coverage has moved on a long way since the beeb showed F1.

It's just a shame that ITV are screwing it up right now

As has been mentioned before, things would be better if we could have coverage of F1 like MotorsTV covered Le Mans.

Well by the end of 2008 i wouldnt be surprised if it went to a digital channel with all the other sports and motor racing being taken by digital channels.

Money talks in F1, I think ITV were not prepared to pay what he was worth maybe..., though at his age, the travelling would probably be too much for a full season.
