Tasmin Brakes upgrade

Does anyone have reasonable priced brake kit for Tasmin with 15" wheels, currently have 260mm and std calipers which helped with early exits on couple of corners at Snet'. Understand 300mm will just fit.

The best Kit is the 304mm and AP caliper setup that I sorted out with BG Developments in Bromsgrove... Not particularly cheap though for the full kit, calipers, mounting brackets, disks bells, hoses and pads but well worth it. I can dig out the number if you like.

We ran our race tasmin for two seasons on the std vented disc set-up, the second season was in twin turbo trim .. there's not a lot wrong with the std braking system so if you think it's lacking best get it checked over first .. though upgrading is one way of geting rid of a faulty component of course

The biggest problem we had with the std setup was the lack of good quality replacement parts..

After a couple of hairy moments after failures the oem stuff went in the bin...

most of the recon stuff we found was quite a way out of tolerance and really needed re-machining and new bigger pistons...

Jes, I think we've spoken about this already.

Whilst there is nothing wrong with the original brake setup for tazzies in non turbo guise there is of course room for improvement.

In my opinion (humble of course!) a brake system upgrade is worthwhile if you're looking for some gains.

I can also vouch for Graham's recommedation as I made this exact upgrade over the winter in advance of this season. Don't be put off by my performance though, that's a whole other story!!

The braking difference is both noticable and significant.

Cheers for all the comments, seems there may be an issue with front pads and bias so hope to get this sorted by Rockingham, may even manage Cadwell. Next up is to improve the driving!

I think we ended up using ds3000 pads in the std calipers, I'll try and dig out what they were. I think they were and aston martin pattern with two little bits ground off the back plate...

made a big difference with decent disks
