Formula 1 and two race weekends...

I know some will be aware of my views about looking into the past to move forward with the way F1 should go, ie. back to big fat slicks, no refueling, manual changing of gears via a stick, a car without all the winglets we see today etc...
However, sometimes a radical idea, normally penned by Max Mosley, can sometimes be good for the sport. I'm not sure if he's thought about this one, can't quite remember where I read it first, it may have even been on this forum, but how about splitting the Sunday into two races.
Even as a die hard F1 fan myself, I could see myself not be effected by this move. For starters, we could have two races, maybe a sprint and feature format. The first being either a fixed number of laps or time, with a slightly longer feature race where by the grid would be a reverse of the finishing order for the first one.
It works well in other formula's so why not F1, would it really be going against the grain of what F1 is all about? The only issue I feel that some die-hards might have is that over night their is a doubleing up of championship points that will effect historical statistics, but that has not stopped the FIA changing the points awarded in the past has it.
At least we could, as fans, justify advert free races now if it remains on a commercial channel, other than the beeb. You'd still have Saturday qualifying to determine the grid for race 1, but with the added advantage that weather conditions between each race could offer us some fantastic race results, especially if the first race was dry and the second was wet - imagine the likes of Alonso, Kimi and Lewis all having to fight through the grid to secure as many points as possible.
One half of me says no, but the other half thinks that is might be interesting to try it out. My suggestion to the FIA and Bernie would be to try it on a circuit during the season as a non-championship event. Maybe a visit to Donnington which would require the least transportation concerns for the vast majority of the grid from next year.
