If you want to get close up to the fence for the best view, you'd best get there by about 6am from past experience (albeit from about 10 years ago), probably earlier if you want to park yourself in front of a big screen.
I would say that's still true for the Sunday, I would have said it's generally more relaxed on the Saturday.Hi,
If you aim to get to Silverstone area for 9.00am on Saturday. You'll be in the circuit by 9.30ish. There is usually no problem at all getting in on Saturday. I usually leave Banbury at around 9.00am and get in just before 10.00am. It's a lot more relaxed on Saturday. There is NO need to get in early to sit in front of the track at the same spot all day. There is always plenty of room. Take saturday to walk around the track and see the different corners. It's good.
Sunday. I used to leave at 4.00am to get in the queue for gates opening at 5.00am to sit at luffield, which used to be full by 6.00am. At this time you'll drive straight into the track. This year I'm taking my son, so i'll probably get in for around 8.00am, leaving Banbury at 7.00am. The back of the circuit, which is a really good place to watch (around Club) should still have loads of room.
Either way, the weather looks nice an warm now.....enjoy it!

Oh... and the Terraces used to open to all general access tickets! As of this year, this is not the case. If you don't have one of the bronze tickets, you won't get in there. So the pressure of turning up at 4.00am to get a spot there is gone. You should have guaranteed access to the area, short of some B*stard spreading himself all over the terrace.
