How bad is it at Silverstone, anyone there?
Discussion
Queues this morning were quite long..... took 45mins from Syresham to Getting in the track.
The Hamilton effect is huge, I Haven't seen it this busy on a friday for ages
One stall had sold out of hamilton T-shirts at 10.30am
The queues this morning were apparently caused by the number of access roads being reduced to preserve the grass car parks. It is supposed to be back to normal for tommorow and sunday.
I guess getting in as early as possible on sunday will advantageous unless you have a Grandstand ticket.

Silverstone in Balham in 2.5 hours. Left from a campsite rather than the car parks, and left the circuit after the podium to go and take the tent down.
Best run home ever!
We left later and had a bit of a nightmare - Silverstone to Fulham took over 3 hours! We stayed for a bit of the concert and left the circuit at 6:30 just to join a queue leading on one of the roads leading onto the A43 which was solid up until the first roundabout when it picked up speed again. Definitely room for improvement imho.Best run home ever!
And don't get me started on the M1!
I have never seen it so busy. Even Friday was as busy as Saturday at last year's GP and Saturday as busy as last year's Sunday...and Sunday...well...the loos were overflowing constantly (glad I had use of an officials one!).
I had no problems leaving after the race via Winterhills and Silverstone village

Didn't go on Friday but left Oxford on Sat expecting to be in inside an hour. Took over 2 cos they hadn't opened up the other side of the A43. Didn't move for over half an hour.
Left early on Sunday expecting chaos and was in the circuit just over an hour after leaving home. Absolutly superb yesterday. Even getting out wasn't too bad.
Very impressed considering the numbers there this year

I'd worked out my route using Google earth to see which back lanes would get me to the east car park and Club Silverstone. It worked a treat. after Brackley I went down A422 to Buckingham but broke left to back lanes which emerged about 1/2 a mile from the east CP entrance. Sat and Sunday were both fine with no queing whatsoever.
Good viewing from the Becketts grandstand but give me Club corner any day. Frustrated not to get a centre transfer with "club silverstone", first time I've been there and not got into the middle. Left feeling a bit cheated.

We had tickets for Club Silverstone at beckets on the Friday! The drive up to the circuit was not bad at all. When we arrived at the circuit we were pulled over by the police
who wanted to search our empty van! (you could see it was empty looking through the back windows) It was my mates van and had his carpentry business logo and phone numbers were all over it, we oviously looked like Arab teroists as we are both white!!. After getting through security we followed the the unmarked trail to parking orange! The marshals were to put it bluntly FN usless (most seemed to be standing around chatting and not directing traffic). As we got nearer to Beckets we were told to park on the grass! which allready was looking like Beausejour campsite at Le Mans this year, or to put it another way 'THE SOMME' The marshals were trying to push cars out of the mud and many were covered from head to foot in mud, where they had fallen over pushing the cars around
Now I know that this post sounds a bit bitter but! quite frankly my overall impression of Silverstone as a spectator and ticket holder is that this place is just rubbish! I know they have spent a shed load of money but where? Walking around on the Friday, standing on soft muddy banking down at stowe and up to beckets is just not on
If this is the best we can do for F1 then im in favour of sending it out of the UK. WE DONT DESERVE IT! When you look at what other countys do IE: Mailaisa, no expence is spared. God help us in 2012
Oh and as for the que on the M40 heading back into london yesterday
