Ok to take camera to GP ?

Through a series of "people I know", "people that owe favours" and an incredible amount of luck, I have an F1 Paddock Club ticket (??) for Sunday.

So, is taking a camera the done thing ? Would I be prevented from taking pics as near sensitive stuff ? Would I just be showing how out of my depth I am by taking pics of anything that moves ??

Anybody been in the Paddock Club before, anybody help ?

Just take the camera and have fun. I got some shots once of inside the williams pit during race day - was circumspect and made sure i didnt get in anybody's way - no probs, apart from Nige who kept turning his back on me..... (mind you that was 20 years ago so things might have changed.......)

Sorry but i might be ablout to Pi$$ on your bonfire here.

The Paddock club is usually sited on the area between the acess road into the centre just after the first bridge over the track and the second bridge. The Grandstands line from the inside of the exit of bridge to where they turn in for Priory.

You will get the chance of a pit road walk about around 9:30ish usually on the morning but that's as close as you're likely to get to Stalag 21.

as for cameras take them and you'll soon get told if you shouldn't use them.

Pit walks are 8 to 8:30 and 11:05 to 12:20.

Do you know if I will get a sheperded 10 minute slot between those times, or will I be left to roam free ?

Don't be daft, take your bestest camera in case it doesn't rain and use the digi if it does! Also, pit girls LUV to pose when they see a man with a big lens.

i met him on tuesday night at a bmw gig, he was pleasant, not rude and generally happy to oblige with autographs and the like all evening.

i also met kubica, priaulx, murray walker and john surtees, - all great people, although i was particularly impressed by priaulx.

I managed to blag an hour in the paddock at the first Indy, incuding pit lane and a mooch round the safety car..

Took loads of pics with no problem

I've been lucky enough to spend the last 4 British GPs in the F1 Paddock Club and YES take your camera

Last year I was given one of the team mopeds and an 'access everywhere' pass (yes even into the team motorhomes and back garages etc) trust me you want your camera

And especially if you get the bring the trophies back to the hospitality tent and chat whith the drivers & team in the pits (spent the last 30 mins of the race in the Renault pits with the headphones on watching and listening).

Paddock Club is good - and keep your eye out for the extra opportunities, as certainly over the last 4 years I been very lucky with these

Great, thanks for telling me who's on pole(NOT!)I thought I was safe from not knowing on this thread seeing the topic and all. I've just returned from being out all day and was about to sit down and watch the recording. I hope you get your camera lense smeared with grease!!
