Are you sure that the times you are comparing refer to the same track configuartion? Quite often the bikes and cars, may run at the same circuit, but the layout can be slightly different?
Of course though an F1 is quicker.
I did read the other day that an F1 car was taken round Laguna Seca for a promo, and failed to beat the champ car time??? It was only a promo though.

It's always tricky finding comparison times from the same circuit and same year that WSBK and F1 uses that still have the times online somewhere.
But this is a good one. French GP at Magny-cours 2006 both F1 and WSBK times.
World Superbike, Superpole - 1 min 39.147 secs
Formula One, fastest qualifying time - 1 min 15.111 secs
If you want to compare MotoGP, WSBK and F1 try searching for times for Valencia, they all test there.

From SBK Official website from Quali 2 this year by T. Corser was 1'26.408
So F1 car by some way!

I`m sure the F1 would be quicker everywhere...on any circuit..However I`m sure the bikes have been using the 30mph 1st gear flip flop chicane before the start/finish straight on Silverstone while the F1 boys don`t...How about Mugello lap times...?
Ferarri test there...Moto gp race there...
Still F1 takes it IMO....they are so good at carving the corners...

No, without hardly trying and on only his 2nd lap he beat the Champ Car's best time.http://www.autoblog.com/2006/08/20/toyota-f1s-rica...

Having four huge wheels as opposed to two little ones tends to help in that particular endeavour.Edited by F.M on Friday 13th July 10:56

Unless the SBK time is from a few years ago it will be the shorter track configuration. The WSB boys haven't used the long Silverston circuit for a few years now. Personally I would be trying to compare MotoGP times with F1 times rather than WSBK times with F1 times. Either way the F1 bike would win by an absolute mile, although I think (I read it ages ago somewhere) a MotoGP bike would accelerate quicker.

Power/weight & straight-line acceleration notwithstanding, the cornering & braking ability of a current F1 car is much greater than a MotoGP or Superbike. Larger (than a bike) contact patch & aero means that F1 cars are hitting 5g in some corners nowadays, and the same under braking. These numbers are way in excess of the most competent track bike.

Hi chaps, help needed as some colleages and i are having a debate over whats quickest round a track? superbike or f1? round say silvrestone etc, what times? and if anyone knows why its faster that would also help thanks!
My kart would blow a superbike away, an F1 car would blow my kart away.... end off. Even an F3 car would wipe a superbike np's.Bikes are very fast on the long bits be V slow on corners, two tiny bit's of rubber for grip and no aero game over really.
Div 1 superkart *twin 125cc 90bhp in 95kg* 0-60 in 1.9 seconds, holds the MSA record for 0-60 track racer, some corners are also taken faster than F1! they hold some outright lap records on short tracks.
