Anybody know anything about superchargers?

I have been tinkering with Turbo cars for ages. Build loads, raced some, crashed others.
However - im considering supercharging what was once, a turbocharged engine. I think it's going to solve a few problems that im having with cracked manifolds and throttle response.
Does anybody know much about them?
The engine is a 2.0ltr dohc vvt Nissan SR20DET engine. Its already fully built (pistons, rods, cams, crank yada yada) and im looking to push a maximum of 1.5 bar through it. I need something that's going to give me 1.5 bar from as low down in the rev range as possible and hold it to redline which is at 7.800rpm
Anybody have any thoughts?

Significant boost at low rpm implies a positive displacement supercharger. In order to get the sort of boost levels you're talking about I think you would need a blower with some internal compression - whipple, sprintex etc. If you ran something like an Eaton at those boost levels the inefficiency would cause crippling amounts of charge heating.
It doesn't seem a very good practice to rate the performance of your engine by how much bar of pressure you are putting into it.
Why don't you follow a proper practice like peak turbo/supercharger efficiency of one that is well suited to the engine and to a peak power goal and torque curve that is applicable to the racing class you are in?

Im no proper racing engineer and i race in an amater class, so i have only ever worked in a "this amount of boost, on this turbo makes this power on this engine" way. I should start looking at peak efficency but this is why i asked the question.
