Hi all,

Just got my tickets through to go to the Renault World Series in Donington, as they were free thought it would be worth applying.

I've been to the F1 before but i'm not really sure what to expect from this - has anyone been before and is it worth it?

Nick.

The series itself has similar objectives as GP2: a proving ground for aspiring F1 drivers, while providing a controlled-cost environment for racing in "equal" cars.

Quite a few F1 drivers have come from the WS by Renault, especially when it used to be called World Series by Nissan. Heikki Kovalainen, Frank Montagny, Robert Kubica, Tiago Monteiro, Narain Karthikeyan are notable examples. Current BMW F1 test driver, Sebastian Vettel is leading the series this year.

So expect some close, competitive racing, like GP2. From what people had posted about last year's races, it sounds fun.
