Any teams got big name drivers in their cars ?

A friend of mine former F1 driver might be available to drive if the deal is right.

Is this for the 24hr or the normal Britcar races? I cant see any current team wanting to or needing to pay for the services of an ex F1 driver. When were they racing in F1?

Could the driver be Mike Wilds, who already competes in Britcar in a BMW?

For sure, Mike is looking for a drive! I would have him in my car for the 24 hr in a flash but he doesn't have budget. With his experience and speed he has got to be an asset to a team without budget issues....!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just because you're a 'big name' doesn't make you quick...

This is a sport in which talent gets you about 2% of the way and money the other 98% - don't kid yourself if you think differently...

Tim, agreed about money versus talent but how many F1 drivers (ex or present) do you think you could beat?

I know the answer for me......zero!!! You just dont get into F1 unless you are GOOD.

Now, if you ask the same question about touring car drivers you might get a different answer..............!!

Cheers,

Richard.

I'm always available. And anyone who says I'm cheap - outside with your handbag now!

Having big name drivers in any championship doesn't mean that it's any better.

A few years back, the Stock Cars at Rockingham had Plato, and others, on mega money contracts, but because the average British driver doesn't have the b*lls to drive around that circuit, it hasn't flourished how it should.

We have once again resisted the temptation to draw upon the salaried drivers this year favouring, as usual, a bunch of no hopers, although someone told me Stephane Ortelli and Laurent Aiello are not plumbers, as they told me when they handed over their cheques to drive for us. I can confirm I will be the only driver with modeling experience in the team.

I am poor ! Got no money at al1 !! driving

We have Gareth Howell in our team. He has been racing a Seat for Motorbase in BTCC this year and won a couple of races last year with Halfords. Not sure if you mob would class him as a big name but he a wicked bloke so we should have a good time.
