Suppose we should expect it - another cheap shot at NASCAR on PH!
NASCAR sells itself as family orientated entertainment - top drivers swearing on TV may seem better than Kimi mumbling away but the fact is Americans in general have different moral standards from our own.
Remember the row over Janet Jackson?
Doesn't make them wrong though (and in many ways more power to them!)
(For those ignorant of the US B*****t is seen as a profanity)

But I do take your point about it being sold as "family oriented entertainment"...all those yellow flags to bunch up the field at critical moments makes it so much more interesting....

There seem to be rather less suprious yellows for debris in recent weeks, which I put down to Smoke's tirade on the subject that got his wrists slapped. So despite everyone (including Tony post wrist slapping) saying that all those debris yellows were necessary for safety they seem to be throwing them a good deal less frequently

I recall one of the races they let run through green flag pit stops despite there being enough junk on the track to warrant a caution - they threw it after everyone had stopped, another ran to the end in similar circumstances.As for the fine, that was worth 25 pence in the swear box at most, not $25,000 and points. It wasn't even a very creative use of profanity. I think all the people involved must have forgotten the language in use on the school playground when they were eight years old.
Was a good race, particularly good to see JPM pass Gordon near the end after all the commentators told us how difficult it is to pass in a stock car at Indy. JPM made it look easy. Clearly not so difficult if you're used to trying to pass people in an F1 car.

Your issue here is surely that NASCAR is primarily an entertainment, though not a clearly fixed as WWF/WWE or whatever they call that so called "wrestling" crap.
It is FAMILY entertainment, aimed at the kids as much as the adults.
That is why they don't appreciate the drivers from using "profanity" in front of the children.
And also, with it being run very much from the bible belt, "you jus' ca'int be cussin' on the teee veee"
Regardless of the sh1te that the rest of the US Media generates and exports much to the disgust of the rest of the world.
