Drivers Meeting...............?

...at EOS P1ssup?
To discuss possible
Regs changes (if any)
Class changes
Points regs
Maybe a good time to sort a meet, should only take an hour or so and means we get proper representation.
Should have agenda
and those unable to attend could vote by post.
Just thinking od keeping it simple and allowing things to grow. Should bear in mind that the way things are going, the Tuscans will have their own series again in a year or two (09?)
And the club series will continue to grow with Group C/B cars? Important to keep B/C going as entry level Msport.
Thoughts anyone. Is it worth it> is there any point.
Even if we all decide to stay as is, everyone will have had a chance to air view/etc and should then be content knowing where the series are going.

Andy - to suggest that the series may split in two years time is both unhelpful and purely speculative. The two series combined to create one with sufficient numbers to secure its long term future and that position is unchanged. After talking to most people and looking at all the suggestions to be honest I dont think we are actually very far away from where we need to be.
There is a little tidying to be done to screw things down a a bit but I dont see a requirement for wholesale change. Lets not forget we've got the best grids we've had in ages...
If anything all the talk of changing this and that is whats leading to the uncertainty, and potentially causing damage to the series..
I'll talk to JR when he's back From Holiday and see if between JR and the TVRCC we can knock off the rough edges and give everyone the stable platform we're all after.
cheers

Wasn't suggesting a wholesale change (this is the prob with written comments)
I was suggesting that the regs should be written down in full and transparent.
Having been trying to compile a points chart for tvrmonster, its obvious that things are...fluid...shall we say with decisions being made over the phone with a couple of agreeing parties. If agreed these should then be written so things remain constant and there can be no arguement later.
We can't expect any third party to compile points tables if there are few rules with many different variables.
(you know how hard this can be Graham, and you know that this is not a dig mate)
I'm happy to put this to bed and go with everyone.
I'll use the TVRCC chart for monster (though this is currently wrong...I'm not 7th
)

We need to have next seasons regs published before our final race at Brands Hatch or we'll end up with the mess we've had this year.
We also need confirm how we will enforce the regulations and which independant third party is going to do it for us - the idea of a couple of keen motorsports students armed with battery powered DL1s which belong to the series is a good idea.
Cheers - Howard

yep. which also points to them being tightened up rather than major changes. Also what ever comes out of this must be final. I think the small problems we do have, were caused by lobbying and changes at the start of the yearWe need to have next seasons regs published before our final race at Brands Hatch or we'll end up with the mess we've had this year.

I've been speaking to a couple of collages and students and have some interested in doing that if thats the route we take... If we do go that to control some of the classes then there is a whole procedure for coast down tests, data analysis, weighing etc to be sorted out. I'd also like the students to go to race technology for some proper training, which would also allow them to help teams with data analysis. The DL1 is a very powerful tool and the power caluclations are a small part of the capabilities. There is some resistance to them through bad experience in the past with them by some, so a clear transparent, well explained and independant method is vital.

What does everyone else think?

CJ I thought you were supposed to be on holiday. I think there is now enough support for P/W for class B at least. Hopefully JR will have something or everyone before Brands.

I am on holiday!!!!!! but have broadband at the villa and can't resist the call of PH! Good news on PTW for class B, should give some really good racing next season.G
