What to take to Spa?

Hi all, thought I'd pick your brains - hope that's ok on a Friday!
I'm off to Spa with my dad to watch the F1 in a few weeks and just wanted to check if there is anything I should or shouldn't take with me.
For example, earplugs - I've not done a full GP weekend before and having heard the old ferraris at their 60th celebrations, I reckon my ears will take a bashing over 4 days. (and my dad's hearing isn't up to much!!)
Next on my "must take" list is a union jack to support the Brits - more Jenson than the rest, but he's Fromes (my home town) most famous son so I'm supporting him regardless of how rubbish his car is! Anyway, that's a whole different topic...don't get me started!
Have any of you experienced F1 people got any tips/advice on what to take or things to look out for? During the test sessions we plan to walk around to get a few different views of the track etc but if you have any top tips, I'd be grateful to hear em!

Earplugs or better ear defenders. Portable radio with earplugs (use under your ear defenders) in case their is an english language radio feed.
For Spa, take sun cream and decent waterproofs, don't be surprised if you use both in the same 2 hour period!!
If you're planning to walk around the circuit take good, waterpoof walking boots, in fact take good waterproof walking boots whatever as chances are you'll have a decent trek from wherever you've parked (do you know where you are parking?)
Take a decent rucksac to carry bottle water etc so you don't have to worry about buying any. A ticket holder for round your neck is useful as well.
Personally I'd take a small pack of loo roll and some hand sanitising gel - the toilets are kept clean (for GT meetings - I've not been for F1) but they are pretty basic and fairly non existent out at the back of the circuit.
Spa is magical, do try to get around as much of the circuit, not just whilst F1 is on track but try to see cars from as many points as possible.
Make sure you eat "frites" from one of the Whoopie frites stands!

We're sitting on the start finish straight so will hopefully be near the better facilities but will take the loo roll/wet wipes just in case!!
As for parking, we're on an organised coach trip so I assume we won't walk too far, although I'll plan for a long walk so I don't get disappointed!
My dad is already looking forward to the frites avec mayonnaise!

If you are on the F1 start/finish straight the grandstand is on the outside of the circuit opposite the F1 garages/pits. They were still being built during the recent Spa 24 hr. race and I can't recall any immediate access to the inside of the circuit, other than walking round La Source and down to the tunnel under the entrance to the 'endurance' pits.We're sitting on the start finish straight so will hopefully be near the better facilities but will take the loo roll/wet wipes just in case!!

Ahh yes, good point, I was thinking of the GT start/finish and their are toilets there (although they are pretty scabby).
I didn't get around to that part of the track so can't confirm anything but certainly pre the grandstands there were no facilities there at all and the grandstands don't appear to have space under them that might have toilets (like the old grandstands).
This is too much detail for the boys I'm sure but for circuits like Spa and LM where toilets are in short supply in places I keep one of these in my rucksack www.sheewee.co.uk - better than stinging your bum on nettles and pee'ing on your feet!!

Fantastic idea!!! (it's www.shewee.co.uk by the way, think you got a bit carried away with your e's!) I've had many an al fresco pee on various driving holidays (my most panaoramic being up in the alps!) - I'll definitely be telling the ladies about this one!!Judging on my last visit definitely an umbrella... ended up with a tarp strung between two cars so we could enjoy some fresh air whilst we had a beer or two..
Going again this year with a camper van and awning so we will be a bit better prepared this time!
All in all a top track and great sfter race atmosphere, you'll have a top time!
