More Spa (GP) help please
Discussion
Hi,
Struggling to find anywhere decent to stay. Any ideas for a location which would be a reasonable train trip? Brussels looks a bit far away.
We'll be flying in to Scipol on the Friday evening and intend to train it to wherever we end up staying.
Also, assuming we get somewhere, is transport from the railway station at Spa to the circuit readily available.
Cheers,
Eric

Take a tent and stay at the circuit? (although that might be full already too!)

The camp sites at Spa are a sh*thole and if it rains (and let's face it, it's Spa so it will at some point) you'll be royally screwed.
There are campsites near the circuit which are better - I stayed at a caravan park in true pikey-stylee about 5 mins drive away which was nice enough and served decent beer
Not sure about getting there by train though. Spa, whilst not in the middle of nowhere, seemed to be a get-there-by-car kind of place to me..
I think this will be quite difficult. The area will be pretty heavily booked and most of the places with availability aren't likely to be in areas where the public transport to the circuit will be easy.
I think the nearest mainline station to Spa is Vervier but that is some distance from the circuit itself and in the absence of a specific GP bus service I think you'll be looking at a taxi.
You'd probably be better trying to hire a car, contact the Tourist Office in Spa (http://www.visitbelgium.com/links.htm comes up on Google)they are likely to have lists of hotels/houses with vacancies, they've always been very friendly when I've been in and the person at the counter has always spoken English.

For a campsite google Eau Rouge and Camping - there is a commercial site a mile or so from the Karting Entrance to the circuit.
It's a nice site, we go there for the 24 hour, it's likely to be full though and I'm not sure how you'd get there from a station, although there are quite a lot of buses that run through Stavelot which is close by.
