To be fair, having watched the replay a couple of times it was a pretty blatant manouvre by Alonso to drive him off the circuit as quickly as possible, so I don't think any other driver would be particularly pleased with his actions if it had happened to them.

Me. He nearly made me wretch a couple of times.

He is not the "nice guy" that he presents to the cameras as is evidenced by the way that he spoke to Ron when asked to let Alonso through.

LH: "Don't ever ing ask me to do that again".

RD: "Don't ever ing speak to me like that again."

LH: "Go and ing swivel".

Personally, I would have called him back into the pits and handed him his cards as he stepped out of the car. There are far too many here who appear to have taken his charm hook, line and sinker.

The move by Alonso was hard but fair. Yes it was deliberate, they're in a championship fight FFS. What did he expect, "after you sir"?

The alleged swearing outburst on the radio you reference to didn't happen according to anyone in the team (and I believe others who have heard the recording), there was evidently a discussion but there was no swearing, the "spice" was added by the media to make it into something it wasnt.

Secondly, if at Monza Hamilton had done to Massa what Alonso did to Hamilton today, which he had the chance to do off the line and put Massa on the grass rather than leave a car's width, all the Hamilton bashers would be up in arms!

I've worked with him in the past in GP2 and F3. He really is that genuine nice guy, one of very few in motorsport.

Behind the car he is a hard racing driver, as has been shown most obviously in F1 by his starts. However just because he takes no prisoners on the track doesn't mean he cant be normal off it. You find that there are many drivers who cannot switch off the 'take no prisoners' attitude when there off the track. There the guys that dont get their careers paid for, the ones who engineers dont want to work with and the ones the other drivers dont like. I can assure you Lewis is not one of these guys, what you see of him is genuine.

I just dont see how you can have formed such a solid veiw of him by purely what you've seen from a few minutes of TV interveiws and cleverly edited new articles...

If all drivers are like this as you claim, why single out Hamilton other than to stir up a slanging match on a forum? Massa comes across as a really nice chap too, but I dare he also has a selfish / arrogant streak but because people such as yourself aren't (over)analysing to death his every move trying to find fault, it goes unnoticed
