is US$100,000,000 a "McLaren"?

To paraphrase Steve Ellis at Metia...

"A useful short hand denomination for hedge fund managers and oligarchs, no doubt."

Wouldn't $100,000,000 be a "Max"?

I thought that at first, but if you follow the money flow - the £1m went from Bernie to Tony, and the $100m is going from McLaren to Jean Todt...no, I mean the FIA. Albeit, the former was a 'gift' and the latter is a 'punishment'.

So, on that basis, it would be a 'McLaren'.

aaah yes, but surely you'd want to call it a Ronnie! in keeping with a Bernie?

Definitely a "Max"

For instance....

"I'll give you a Max for 20% of Northern Rock"

I'd like to. But, it's not Ron who's forking out the cash. It's the company and shareholders of McLaren. So, it has to be "a McLaren" I think.

So that makes 10 billion a Mervyn? In the same vein, three and a half trillion must be a Gordon

Surely a Stepney or a Coughlin could be a name used for 'espionage' no need for the gate word any more. I would have thought a Pedro would help describe a 100 million as his e-mails gave the game away.

A Ronnie will be the result of selling Alonso to Jean for US $ 50 million and using Bernie's TV money to pay the rest of the fine to Max.

No money will actually change hands....but papers will be signed.
