if it comes down to the wire, will FA be allowed to win
Discussion
My view is that Alonso will be allowed to win if he is ahead on the track and has a chance of doing so. The reason for the re-trial was because of the equality which McLaren place on their two cars, giving either an equal chance to win as long as it is mathematically possible for either driver to win the championship. I don't think that will change, despite the poor relationship between Alonso and Ron Dennis, even if Alonso has announced his intention to leave the team by then.
yeah the wheel nut thing crossed my mind, but dont the mechanics around each driver have their own in house battle with eachother, ie even if FA was to go having won the title, those lads will have been part of the wining drivers team etc.
I think it would have to be something at a higher level, ie revs down or poss even something programmed to go bang at a given time??
trouble is, if that were to happen and the ferraris are 2 and 3 and lh is not in with a chance of a win....... it could go horribly wrong for RD

I believe that RD will allow "the best man to win", Hopefully it will be Lewis, however, knowing what the press are like it this would be a tainted championship for LH, (Rookie wins championship by cheating!!! headlines) If FA wins and leaves, it would be a" well won chamionship by a hard done by world champion and it serves Mclaren right for loosing him"headline........Should any malady befall FA's car, then Mclaren will be judged to have stitched him up, in my opinion,But I detest the national press, so maybe I'm Biased.
I'd love to see Lewis do the job, however its a hard call to make and could be decided by a gravel trap incedent AKA Senna/Prost, judging by how close on performance, aggression, and desire the two are.
If Lewis wins in Fuji, then I think the titles his, again just my opinion

I get the impression it's a no win situation for McLaren. If he wins and goes to another team, they are left at the bottom of the pit lane, with neither construtor or driver champions. If Alonso gets a non finish McLaren will get 'you did it on purpose'.
I'm affraid this whole thing will run and run for years.

I think I just want him to win now, coz he just shuts up and races..
( bit of a grumpy f***er though)
