Is it worth it I might ask:

http://www.itv-f1.com/Feature.aspx?Type=General&am...

I think the difference between the two "most recognised faces in the paddock" is made clear enough by the following:

ITV F1 said:
James Allen will firstly be at Mitsubishi Motors' dealership in Cheltenham Road East, Staverton on Sunday morning to speak about his new biography, Michael Schumacher: The Edge of Greatness...He will then move across town to host a special Q&A session at the Bacon Theatre with Sir Jackie
Sorry Jackie, but nothing short of an offer to join Denise Richards in her shower could entice me to endure the first part of that "prize". However, I promise to buy a copy of your book.

Can you imagine how gurn-inducingly cringeworthy this 'book' is going to be? Oh well, at least Woolworths have got something to put in the 99p bins this Christmas.

Unfortunatley James Allen wrote Mansells Biography - which it has to be said is a pretty decent read.

Sir Jackie has a new book out in the next week or so, and is doing a book signing tour - might go along and ask him what he thinks of Mad Max wink

do you not think the more likely scenario is that professsional writer actually wrote the nigel mansell biography and james allen put his name to it??!?! i sincerely doubt that james allen would have the ability to write a good biography of anyone, let alone michael schumacher.

Much as I get annoyed with Allen's gaffes in the commentary box, he does have a decent writing pedigree.
His Mansell book was Mansell's autobiography, written by Nige with Allen.
He's also been News Editor at Autosport and has written for the Financial Times and F1 Racing. So he's not a chancer.

What's the writing equivalent of "he has a good face for radio" ?

I had considered popping along with my old copy of 'Principles of Performance Driving' for him to sign, another good book.

I promise that the next time I see Denise I'll put in a good word for you wink
