Thruxton touring cars
Discussion
I was there yesterday and Saturday, did anybody see the ridiculous beggining to Saturday's clio cup race? A total disaster for those involved but classic tin top racing for the rest of us!!!
The third race of the btcc was great especially Turkington and Jackson's coming together was a total heart stopper, got to feel for Mike Jordan though!!

Always worth staying for a Ginetta race....always eventful!! Love to see some photos's if there are any about. The car is totalled but what would the winter be without a rebuild!
Jonathan, sorry to hear about your whoopsie. Sounds like you'll have the same winter as me and Andy(Smith, 46) rebuilding a car after a Thruxton accident! Was anyone else involved?Holly

I saw that roll at the end, glad you were ok. You had a little nudge from the rear side which slid you sideways and the car started bouncing then rolled.
I am waiting for my friend to send some pictures which will hopefully have it on.
Sounds disturbingly like the same sort of accident as the Porsche Cup one form the first Thruxton meet (where it barrel-rolled and cleared the safety fance!).I am waiting for my friend to send some pictures which will hopefully have it on.
Glad everyone is OK.

Hi, I have a couple of pics if you want them - missed the start of the incident but caught you as you turned over. I was very glad to see you walk away from that one!!I can post them here or let me have an email address if you are interested

Nice pics on this thread btw - it was a great day!
Cheers,
Jane

Great photo's. Don't suppose you got any of the last Ginetta race? I rolled my car in the complex and still don't know how it happened...
Saw your car airborne but didn't see how it happened. Really glad you got out of that okay! I think the other drivers were grateful to the chap that came off with you and was first to you - he started giving everyone else the thumbs-up when he knew you were okay. Not sure I would have wanted to carry on the race if I thought someone had been badly hurt, or worse! Cracking race, and glad I stayed to the end for it!
