The FIA website doesn't have an email link and not speaking fluent french I wish to make a representation to the FIA officially vai this website.
'I Mark Sheerin hereby accuse Carlos Garcia of actions liable to bring the FIA and the sport into disrepute.'
This is an official complaint any representatives of the FIA can contact me to get my full details through the email address on this site where I will be happy to provide my full details to the FIA representative concerned.

Thats back pedalling at its finest. How can using the word black have been missinterpreted or the use of the word racist in the original Spanish press?

If you'd actually read the article on Crash, you would have noticed that the quotes that gave the impression he was making racist remarks were published in a SPANISH NEWSPAPER - it is in fact Reuters (French/International) and Crash.net (British) who are reporting that he has said the remarks were published in such a way that he appeared racist.

It appears to me that Carlos had a chat with a Spanish newspaper, and they printed the chat in a way to create a sensational headline, and batter the British.
The Express (british Newpaper) reported that the spanish newspaper had run the article. They didn't run the article themselves. They are reporting FACT. The article content may not be FACT, but is not there duty to find out if it's the truth, they are reporting on the article published in Spain.
He has since issued a statement saying ' that quotes attributed to him in Spain's El Publico newspaper had been twisted, making him appear critical of the British'.

Well it will be no problem for Gracia. The Express have published comments and attributed them to Gracia. Gracia will be a wealthy man, who probably already has a full-time legal team working for him anyway as part of his everyday business life. So it'll be no sweat for Gracia to reel in some easy money. Provided he's not lying about his retraction, of course.

This doesn't suprise me at all .. as I've seen the spanish set being racist at football matches and in general also. There's something in their culture that deems it ok. As for Garcia, he is now obviously making a poor attempt at back pedalling and covering his own hide now that he's realised what a big deal his comments are. He may have been out of context - quotes in print often portray a warped sense of someone's intention but never-the-less, he's an idiot for even treading that line.[url]
