Did Plato give away his championship?

Well if my recall is correct he lost the championship by 3 points to Giovanardi
However at Croft he gifted a win to team mate Darren Turner and took 12 points for second rather than 15 for a win.( he was leading but on the run to the finishing line but he slowed and allowed Darren past)
That would at least have given even points so it would be down to the small print. Either way hindsight shows it was not the most considered move of the season!
