Can't wait for the race on sunday!
Will be unbelievable when Lewis 'the legend' Hamilton wins the title! Good luck mate, all the best! win it for England!

Surely he deserves an MBE from Her majesty?

That's my line.

But think about it. Who thinks that a wheelbarrowload of MBEs should have been awarded to a bunch of blokes who did well chasing a funny shaped ball round a muddy pitch a few years ago?

I reckon the pope will get in first with a crafty cannonisation. The British public will demand no less. Then obviously Gordon Brown will resign so Lewis can take over as PM. Then the Queen will resign so he can be head of state at the same time.

All this because a rookie got lucky by driving a car that Alonso made fast.

FFS - he is just a kid that is in one of only 4 cars that were ever going to win the championship. Good on him, but loads of Drivers in many top level championships could have done the same, Nascar (alot of them), Champcar, IRL, etc, etc, etc.

I think you underestimate how good Alonso is. Not many drivers could beat him over a season in identical machinery.

Give it another 5-7 years before posting this again and there might be a chance you'll get a sensible answer.

Atm there is a very good chance that LH could be the person most likely to eclips Schumacher's achivements, or even get close to them. Give it another 100 or so GP's, may bee a title or two and we'll see.

Until then keep your powder dry.

Doubt it! I'm not saying the taxi drivers are not talented, just that you can't say someone who is a good touring car driver would be any good in F1.
As for Nascar, well, if they made banjo playing and chewing gum (not at the same time, though) part of F1 qualifying then maybe...

All I am saying is that the driver in that Mclaren was at the very least going to be inth top 4 and with Hamiltons racing back ground (so many races in all forms of single seater for 15+ years) that he (as GP2 champion) was alway likley to be in top 2 or 3 - he is Mega and great to take it to Alonso.

It is REALLY CLOSE on Talent of the top 3. But after that any of the other guys in that Mac MIGHT have doen the job. As all car are different you will never know. Hamilton would be as equally no where in a Honda as Buttonwink
