Are we entering a new, great era ?

At last, F1 is attracting enthusiasm, even from non-die hards, again.

So, what's the recipe ? Simple IMO. People, as in all walks of life, are making things happen again.

Its a long time since we've had more than two people with the fight, hunger and capability.

Hamilton, Alonso and Raikkonen. I salute you. yes

When was the last time F1 was great and enjoyable to watch ? Senna, Prost, Mansell ?

Love it !

Erm..... we have an exciting climax to the championship....
but is F1 back?

How many times did we hear COUTHARD IS BACK!!!! Just cos he finished higher than13th for a change.

The road to this one exciting finale has been very tedious and processional, with more excitement coming from the court cases and press fights and PH fights.

F1 is not, in my opinion..... back.

No worries.

Personally, I think its been a great season. Sure, the hype has been part and parcel but lets be honest, there hasn't been this much hype for years.

Its all part of it. Good to see it getting the attention it deserves.

No TC - now THAT is something I'm looking forward to. I just hope they can manage to enforce the ban without all sorts of jiggery pokery from the teams trying to get around it.

F1 will be back when the businessmen step down and enthusiasts take over the running of the 'show'.

I strongly suspect that the reason Formula One is becoming more popular in the UK is because a British driver is winning. The fact that he's driving for a British team may also have a slight effect.

The racing hasn't been of a significantly better quality than in recent years. Despite the fact that the championship is close, quite often the racing on track has not been close at all, with one driver and more especially one team, dominating. There were also close title battles in 2003, 2005 and 2006 but none of these prompted a revival in popularity for the series in the UK.

They're also meant to be the fastest, most advanced cars in the world. It's all about balance.

I did a topic about having 2 championships..... 1 with raw cars and no driver aids to find the very best driver, and another with hi-tech anything goes super cars.

What we worked out that basically you could achieve the same result by having go-karting and robot-wars.
