I know nothing of the split other than what has been published, but I assumed this might have been the case - it seems strange that a team would lose all of its regular drivers and (judging by vacancies) several team personnel without there having been some kind of fallout.

Still, hope it works out well for both of them - one top sportscar team should become two. Having said that I haven't heard much from Ecosse, will be interesting to see how they do without Niarchos's funding.

The quote from Chris Niarchos when CRS was announced was:

“Six or seven months ago, we felt that what Cobra was contributing to Scuderia Ecosse justified setting up our own team. After all, Cobra was providing the professional drivers anyway, and much of the commercial support. I felt that if I was already doing much of what a team owner provides, so why shouldn’t I do it myself?"

The Cobra Group is Niarchos' dayjob.

Andrew works for Cobra too even though he is a professional racing driver. Andrew had an Formula Renault team and decided to merge with Chris at a guess. I believe a former driver's father bank rolled Scuderia Ecosse for a while hence why they got into BGTs and Le Mans. I've known Stewart and Andrew for a long time, since Stewart was in club Formula Ford back in the 80s.
