I see that the FIA have issued a warning regarding the shocking abuse Lewis and Mclaren have been receiving over the last couple of days in testing in spain.
Lets hope that F1 does not sink to the levels of football.
Still good to see Max et all getting something right for once.

Never be shocked by a nation that can torture animals to death as a public spectacle.

Appalling people.

Allegedly they were Alson supporters.

Simple solution is to take all of Alonso's points away, same for any driver that attracts racist fans (especially if it happens to bo Alonso)

Funny old world...

You can shout what ever you like to another white driver, but as soon as someone shouts at a black driver it's called racial abuse!!!!

Indeed, read here: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/64969

Appalling, however a certain term against Alonso mentioning his nationality used on this forum by gutter elements doesn't help either. Nor does Hamilton stoking the flames, whether in context or not.

A public gesture from both drivers would help diffuse the situation, as would the Spanish officials restricting testing at Catalunya, Jerez, Valencia et al, to essential personnel only.

After seeing this in the paper today I was expecting a much larger thread on this!

I was looking forward to the hysteria of the LH fan club here berating the racists, and then I was gonna mention the hypocracy and anti-spanish comments that have been made in this very forum.

Together we must stamp out racism. Oh, and the French.

Hell, they are just sore losers, that's all.

That does not mean they are entitled to behave in such a way tho. Poor wee Spaniards, lets hope LH kicks Alfonso ;-) good and proper this year.

Somehow think that a white driver being called "puto negro" (ing black) or "negro de mierda" (black shit) doesn't have the same impact if that's shouted at a "black" driver.

I do not know that being a Hamilton fan comes into it, Hopefully the people on here are Motor Racing folk and do you want this sort of attitude to ruin our sport.
I understand it was not just verbal but objects were thrown at the cars as well not something i would like my kids to witness .

Well the fans that shout this abuse have had a result, it's in the paper, on tv and the web. If they had been ignored they would of pailed into insignicance which is what they deserve! Now lots of people know what they said! Hamilton (who seems like a real good guy) must ignore these idiots and let his rather large driving talent do the talking so when he slaps Alonso perhaps the retards will turn on each other and expose themselves for what they really are, insignificant! Keep it in football where it belongs!

Yeah, but that wasn't racist.

'Spantard' refers to nationality, not race. I would find being called something like - I dunno - Britiot (it's all I could come up with on the spot as an example - a lame combination of 'British' and 'Idiot') far less objectionable than being called a 'cracker'. Which, apparently, is fine if you're a black person using that word to describe a white person.

Complete and utter Disgrace in this day and age and shows some of the the Spanish community to still be a slightly backwards race - the Spanish have a long history of racism at there sports stadiums - I remember the black England players getting abuse/monkey chants in Madrid a few years back, there National coach was caught on camera calling Henry a Monkey, R.Carlos got monkey chants at almost every stadium according to his Biography and i remember Samual Etoo walking off the pitch while playing for Barcelona as it got so bad!

I have saw the pictures of people blackening there faces out with Monkey masks writing "Hamiltons Family"?? and i have heard what they were shouting and it is a complete disgrace and no-one on here can justify it for any reason whatsoever. It is a complete embarrassment for the whole of Spain and for F1 and i expect at least a heavy fine.

Bad choice of words there, sorry! I was trying to say racist abuse and violence doesn't exist in motorsport fans or participants as a rule, but it does exist in football. The Spanish fans should be ashamed of themselves.

It remains a derogatory term - which is not acceptable

Personally I think we should be able to say what we like. If one race can say the N word, then to stop others using it is itself racist.

As for Spantard, if people think he's a retard then they could just say to. We know he's spanish, adding spanish onto an insult is redundant and also changes it to a hate crime.

But, it's already a hate crime cos calling someone a retard is either mocking their disability or falsely labelling someone while making light of other people's disabilities.

What you all should have said was...
"I personally do not like Alonso, due to his words and actions, I do respect his right to say those words and actions and respect his right to exist."

Oh wait... 'his'... did i need to identify his gender? Does his gender have influence on how we percieve him? Am i being sexist? !

Anyway, i did like the 1 banner that said "Hamilton talks shit" ... so they saw his ITV intervies then? wink

Conian - Personally I think we should be able to say what we like.

So do you think its ok to racially abuse someone is this day and age? You can say what you like in your own home but to directly chant and shout in an abusive manner as was the case is out of order.
