Has Alonso made any reference to the Spanish Episode from last week yet? I've read quite a few reports and heard nothing from the man himself, which I find odd because the fans are in many respects representing him. Just haven't seen him distance himself from them, which i find a bit odd.

No they're not. How can you be racist on behalf of someone else.confused

Keep your mouth shut Alonso, or you'll be mis-quoted, taken out of context, and blamed for the whole thing.

Why attack me? Have I just upset the Alonso fan club?

Not being anti Alonso right now, but I just find it odd that the man at the centre of all this, has not distanced himself from it.

TBH i think it was a perfectly legit question, Alonso could have spoken out about the racism, especially now his home gp is in question, but he stayed quiet...fair enough but as per usual he decides to give nothing back to the sport thats made him what he is.

No need to flame grill a perfectly good question.
gees this forum sucks

or he could distance himself from it ( deliberatly or otherwise)
or
he could just not give much of a toss
like most who saw it

this was not a lynching
there were no crosses burning in the stands
the whole crowd did not take up pick axe handles and decend on the nearest town searchng out the Black community.
3 ....twits acted up in, at best an unplesant, and at worst a stupid thoughtless performance.
no one thought it was cool
everyone thought it was dull and the world moves on.
but some people have an agenda to be permanantly outraged by stuff that is best dealt with by ignoring it.

if Hamilton had stopped and thrown his gloves to them, they would be treasuring them right now, and LH cap sales would go up by a minimum of 3 !!!

I think the OP was pointing out that if Alonso had condemned the racism, being as they were allegedly his own fans, then it would have gone a long way to nipping the whole thing in the bud.

One could agree. However, I think a united front from all the drivers would be more effective.

Alonso has no more control over his fans actions than anyone else.

No more than any footballer can decides which people anywhere in the country can support Leeds or Manchester or Liverpool.

What is surprising though is the Spanish take.
We have allready had a top Spanish Official making veiled remarks to Hamiltons Colour and now we have the fans being openly racist against Hamilton.

Very surprising for a country who's blood ancestry is North African from its architecture to its culture and dancing thanks to the influence of the Moors who settled Spain admitedly under protest and the reason the Spanish Inquisition happened.

Even the ancient Spaniards allowed the Africans to stay if they denounced Islam.

Perhaps if Hamilton became a Catholic all would be well...

or perhaps they are just Spanish chav idiots
