We are going to Florida at the end of May and I wondered if there was anywhere I could take my 9 year old son to see some motor racing whilst we are out there.

Any help appreciated

There are also quite a lot of lesser tracks - lots of ovals. Great racing, very fan friendly.

This is a pretty good listing.

Don't discount the dirt tracks - they are big business in the 'States, and offer some great racing - especially the wild and hairy "Sprint Cars".

Don't they do swamp racing in Florida? That would be pretty cool to watch.

I think they do drag boat racing there too and some mad-arse circuit-based and white water speedboat stuff as well. Not sure when the season is though.

Normally something going on at Daytona Raceway, they do have the Museum/Tour there and its about a tenner to get it. Daytona Beach itself is a bit of a dump, I was quite shocked how run down it is now. Homestead is a long way down towards the Keys-the Keys are lovely and well worth a visit.
