I wonder why the BBC have published this article when just last week they published an article saying he'd definitely be gone by the end of the year.
Could be that he genuinely didn't know which way to jump. With domestic problems on top of 'Spygate' he had a lot of pressure, and there was bound to be speculation. But RD didn't get where he is without being his own man.Good luck to Ron and his team, I hope they have a great season.
I may be the case that Dennis was until recently unsure of whether to quit or not, but I don't see that he or McLaren have outwardly changed their tone in the last week. As I understand they've gone from saying "Dennis isn't quitting" to "Dennis isn't quitting" yet the BBC have done a 180, going from "Dennis will be gone before the season's out" to "Dennis isn't quitting".

I would've been very surprised if he'd left - unless the other major shareholders in MM made it clear they wanted him gone, so as to make his position effectively untenable. Why would he choose to leave when he has the chance this year to restore any damage done to his (and MM's) reputation, not to mention to help secure the WDC for his protege and, stick two fingers up to Max and certain of the Ferrari top brass into the bargain(sp)?
More likely he'll quit after this season imho, if all has gone to plan.
