Ok, so who would we have as our ideal commentary team on the BBC's F1 coverage next year?
My starter for ten:
Anchorman: ideas?? (not Steve Ryder!!)
Replacement for fat-boy Blundell: Johnny Herbert
Head commentator: Brian Jones (the absolute best choice IMHO) or Ben Edwards or Martin Haven
Second commentator / grid-walk: Martin Brundle
Pitlane interviews: Keep Louise I suppose - she's alright, and most of the drivers know her
Music: The Chain
Gabby Logan will probably front the show, the BBC are pushing her. Adrian Childs is also running high with the BBC as is that Irish bloke from the holiday shows Craig Doyle. My outside bet would be John Inverdale
Commentators : Jonathan Leggard if he was to come back from 5 live soccer and travel again. Or and wait for this Expert Martin Brundle has authourity and still drives F1 cars behind the scenes. Maurice Hamilton is interesting and I would love Eddie Jordan to talk to the owners to put soem spin on the management of teams.
Jonny Herbert would be amusing as a pit lane reporter, but David Coulthard maybe free next year!
Peter Windsor is always interesting if not everybody's favourite man.

I think Vicki needs to be on the grid at a couple of races to add some zest , also no ones mentioned Alan Hyde voice of touring cars ?
Brundle and Johnny Herbert , with special guest Murray for the Brit GP
Music The Chain with 2 versions the orig and the new Fatboy Slim version to be recorded.

Too cockney.... starts every sentence with "Welllllll....." which is no better than Blundells "What 'e done...". Why is he a fat-boy? Both me and the wife commented that he was suprisingly moob-less this year.Raine said:

Yeah Ben Edwards. Never heard Brian Jones or Martin Haven.Raine said:

Yeah Martin does a great job but the FIA don't like him and he may have another two years on his ITV contract.Pitlane interviews: Keep Louise I suppose - she's alright, and most of the drivers know her

Pfffff how predictable. I think the BBC should commission Girls Aloud to write the theme choon.belleair302 said:

Good call. Didn’t think of him.woof said:
They just need some people that know something about the sport. Gaby Logan is useless - doesn't know the first thing about motorsport !
She's been good at everything she's done so far. I wonder why she left ITV. As front 'man' she doesn't need to know the insider dealings, just have a good overview. Let's face it, she could do no worse the the Spaniards who now seem to know everything about F1 nowadays.Presenters: Steve Rider* and Damon Hill
Commentary: Ben Edwards and Martin Brundle
Pit lane reporters: Suzi Perry and Ted Kravitz**
No more grid walks from Martin - the drivers now ignore him and he's reduced to interviewing nobodies - I mean, Kelly Osbourne for f
k's sake!
Theme tune: The proper Fleetwood Mac version of The Chain, not a re-recording of the instrumental bit.
All IMHO.
* He's a fan and his knowledge (at least when he was at the BBC) is his own. It's only now that he's at ITV that it seems scripted. The only real problem is that he burnt some bridges at the BBC in order to cover F1 for ITV

- Another one who's not too bad at what he does.
