I can't believe that the Hamster is up for this. I don't believe that he has the time

I dont actually reckon he'd be that good on the spot. I mean delivering prepared witty one liners he's great, but live F1 coverage, I'm not so sure. Maybe if they partner him with Brundle but I still dont see him as ideal.

True. Martin Brundle's a must. Louise and Ted know their stuff. The rest can take their P45s....

He used to do radio, so I expect he's better at ad-libbing than you think...

Bloke is so full of his self importance when away from the screen , ie in real life, that people are put off. Stick with professional programme leaders and those with a sports history. I still believe Gabby Logan will get the post.

Louise and Ted Know their stuff?

They may have degrees in banality but thats about it, please get rid of them along with Allen, Brundle is the only one of the ITV crew with any credibility.

As for Hammond, I dont see an issue with him performing the Ryder acnchor role. But for someone to suggest that he has an affinity with F1 drivers because he crashed a jet car is idiotic in the extreme

Good choice, he does a car show doesn't he? And its not like Clarkson has followed F1 since he was a child.

Not the impression I formed while filming with RH recently, perhaps you caught him on a bad day?. He very quickly picked up a different (non-car) sport and showed real enthusiasm. He was very professional and wasn't at all self-important with any of my team.

Whether he has the in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm to present F1 is another question

Quote from the Daily Mail "Coverage will take on the style of Top Gear, with co-presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May also involved."

How f***ing awful

If the show's producers have any backbone, they will spare us the play-by-play altogether. I have yet to find the need for someone to tell me that Raikkonen is going into the pits as I watch Raikkonen go into the pits.

By all means give us an expert, be it Brundle or another former professional, to give us context and technical insight, but please do not include a talking head who does nothing more than annoy us as he states the obvious.

Sincerely hope this is just a wind up.
