Am thinking of going over to Thruxton on Monday with the wife and kids to see the 40th Anniversary Race meeting; Race card here

Without bothering with Grandstand seats, whats the best place to stand/sit in deck chairs to watch the racing? Am assuming on a corner somewhere..

Not been to Thruxton before...any tips?

Cheers biggrin

I always stand on the 'complex' at the end of the start finish straight. It's elevated and you can see most of the circuit from there

Go and stand in the receptio for the flying school. You'll get a pretty good view from there. They might ask you what you're doing though. Or more likely - it will be closed.

There's a good elevated mound in front of the stand at the start of the pit straight with good viewing through the braking area and chicane. Failing that the banking just past the pits is fine as you can see through the complex of bends and also follow the cars (roofs) as they go around the back of the circuit.

Always go past Allard to the complex and then sit on top the banking. Toilets near by and you can see the whole ciruit except the final chicane and start and finish straight apart from Allards itself.
