Setting up a racing formula

Ok. This is probably going to result in me being shot down in flames but...
If I wanted to setup a racing legue/formula for a bunch of like minded people, how would I go about this?
Say I wanted to arrange a series of racing days throughout the year (like every couple of weeks) in Caterhams or similar. Are there companies that would:
- Allow you to race
- Lease you the cars (and service them)
What kind of licence would we need?
Does anybody have a clue what this kind of thing would cost?

Not an expert but here goes with some initial comments:
MSA control racing in the UK. You don't have to do it through them but in practice you're strongly advised as they provide some insurance for events that they licence and they are recognised by the goverment so their races don't fall foul of any legislation. Trackday organisers can run events but they can't be competitive events.
MSA licences clubs to organise races so you need to find a club to run it: eg. BRSCC, BRDC, SEMSEC, MSVR, etc
To be a championships series, the series itself must be registered with the MSA. A series of one-off challenge events does not. To participate in an MSA sanctioned race, all drivers must have an MSA race licence, eg Nat B.
There are people who will rent cars on an arrive & drive basis but it ain't cheap. Cost is very dependant on what & where.
If this doesn't entirely dissuade you, then email me and I can put you in contact with someone who has done this. He also has access to a dozen Caterham roadsports that are potentially available.
