Hi Guys,

Anyone going? Anyone camping on site?

I'll be there with a few mates so would be good to meet up with some fellow PHers if you're about?

I went last year and had a fantastic weekend and I totally recommend going, especially if you've never been before.

It's a fantastic weekend - I'm addicted to the sound of A1GP cars on the overrun.
+ Britcars (including Richard Chamberlains mighty Porsche 935).
+ Heritage Touring Cars.

It's just £39 for whole 3 days but I can't get the Friday off so I'll be there Saturday & Sunday.

Last year from the Motorvision website it was possible to print a ticket that gave free South Bank parking. I hope they do this again as it's dead handy parking around the back of Druids.

When I saw the 1st A1 GP at Brands I was standing on an old plastic bottle container at Paddock Hill trying to get a better view

I'd have loved to have been there but whoever set the calendar managed to make it clash with the BTCC. (aAlong with every other major event at Brands this season!)

Oh yes, I'm camping at Brands with Busby, I'll be in the '78 Corvette Pace Car, Busby is driving my '92 Corvette. We'll be rolling up about 5pm on Friday, keep an eye out and 'beer us' as we'll both be gasping!

P.S.
If only one Vette turns up then steer clear as I'll be unapproachable until I'm so drunk I forget about it.

Can't go this time but loved the first ever A1GP race there, esp with historic F1 as a support race.

Just hope they've sorted out the car park exits this time, it took us 2 hours to leave the car park at the end of the day (a distance of a few hundred metres) because there was no one stationed at the exit lane to manage it.. basically a free for all and total gridlock

We got caught the first time leaving the campsite as the coach parking was right by us and those blokes were on a very slow day.

Last year we had it sussed. Leave grandstand seat about 15 mins before end, watch remaining bit of race by start/finish. Once done, run for the hills, get car and off we went.

The gate on that day was 45,000 I recall - the biggest car crowd since the days of F1. The trick maybe to sit it out until the end of the entire programme and the crowds may thin out. The Lotus, Britcars and Porsches all have races after the A1GP feature race - so it shouldn't be a hardship...

If anyone needs a little more help to spot Rod's car, I can assist. Look for the beautiful black Ginetta G50 - and then wait for a bit. The 996 will be along soon.
