Residents have moved there, fully knowing a race track is nearby, then moan about the noise. It's just as bad as the Heathrow t5 / 3rd runway protestors moaning about the fact that aircraft are flying overhead.

Motor racing provides tens of thousands of jobs and contributes billions to the British economy. Yet the industry, and motoring foundation upon which it is based, not only get no help from the government, but are treated with an indifference bordering on contempt. British motor racing get no support from government; in fact, it is often hamstrung by it. British motorists get the same treatment - vehicle taxes, fuel duty, speed cameras, appalling neglect of road maintenance.
One would think that the MSA has a role to play here, perhaps working with the AA and RAC. Has any of these organisations ever so much as peeped up about these issues?
i just wonder when the government are ging to wake up its happening all ovedr the world and the UK, with drag strips and ovals to. when will the government wake up and realsie that motorsport brings more money into the country than any other sport and realise by closing down circuits or puttin houses next to or on them is the dumbest idea on the plannet and will lose the uk billions of dollars a year......i really do feel like bending the goverment over sumtimes, puttin on my steel toe cap boots givin ema good kickin!

I remember not so many years ago when my family would always have a BBQ on the day of the British F1 GP at Brands, it was quite fantastic to hear the noise of the cars drifting into the garden whilst we feasted on slightly overdone steaks and cremated chicken wings. Bring back the glory days of Brands Hatch and tell the idiots who buy a house next to one of the worlds most famous racing venues and then complain about the noise to bugger off back to Surrey!
Here’s to the next 50 years of racing – let us all hope that throbbing V8’s and screaming V10’s are not a thing of the past by then!

On another forum, there is a link to the sevenoaks council website which has the agreement document available for download.
I've read it, and it doesn't look like NIMBY's win at all. MSV have documented what they will and won't do in terms of noisy days, and it doesn't look much different to what already goes on. Just that it's set out so they can thrust the document under a complainants nose and say "here - we're working to the agreement, now foxtrot oscar"
Yes, in a sensible world, if you don't like noise, you don't move in next to the bandstand/docks/railway/pub/club/racing circuit. However this is 21st Century Great Britain. Everything is dumbed down to the lowest common denominator, so the legal profession can milk it as much as they can.

The AA and RAC are basically now only risk averse insurance brokers only too ready to toe the Speed Kills party line.
The MSA are primarily interested in the remaining Members and exectutives salaries and pensions
