Silverstone GP virgin
Discussion
Realise it's leaving it a bit late, but only now have i found out that i can make it to this years GB GP. Hopefully getting tickets this weekend for Copse.
This will be my first GP, i realise i won't see as much of the race as if i just stayed at home and watched on the TV, but really want the atmosphere.
Question is, what time should i be looking at getting too the circuit?
Any advice for a first timer would be of help

depends which direction you arrive from but really, as early as you can physically bear. I havent been to the gp since they redeveloped the roads around silverstone but it used to be manic. we used to go on the saturday and it was always stopped from the "green man" pub around 8am. the roads are much better but you really want to be aiming to be in your seat for around 10 which means getting to within a mile or two of the circuit for 9...
Take some wet weather kit, some sun block too, something to eat and drink and arrive around 7.30am at the latest. Traffic is now pretty well controlled, the entrances into Silverstone are all one way with a dual carriageway into the main entrance from the A43. Also take some cash and if you drive a BMW take in your keys or borrow some from a friend to jump the queue at the BMW pit lane experience at the back of the circuit.
